Who We Are
Homefairy Technologies Ltd ("Homefairy", "we", "our", or "us") operates the Homefairy platform, a property agent marketplace connecting shortlet property owners with verified agents across Nigeria. Our registered address is Plot 101A, Road B3, Carlton Gate Estate, Chevron Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when registering, including your name, email address, phone number, and role (Owner or Agent).
For KYC verification we collect government-issued identification documents such as NIN and passport copies, as well as biometric data through our Face ID liveness detection process.
We also collect property listing details, booking and transaction history, device information, and usage data when you interact with the platform.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve the Homefairy platform; to verify your identity and prevent fraud; to process bookings and escrow payments via Paystack.
We also use your information to send you notifications about deals, bookings, and platform updates; and to comply with applicable Nigerian laws including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only with third-party service providers who assist in operating our platform, such as Paystack for payments, Smile Identity for KYC, Cloudinary for media storage, and AWS for document storage.
We also share data with counterparties in transactions to the extent necessary to close a deal, and with regulatory authorities where required by law.
Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. KYC documents are retained for the period required by applicable Nigerian financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@homefairy.ng.
Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact our Data Protection Officer at privacy@homefairy.ng.
Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. KYC documents are stored in a secure, access-controlled AWS S3 environment. We notify affected users within 24 hours of any confirmed data breach.
